2024 Vinings Estates Swim Team

Hello-

We hope this informational letter helps to answer some questions in regard to Swim Team and if your child meets the requirement and will be available to participate on the team. We understand practices can be a challenge with working parents and camps; however, your child is signing up to be on a TEAM and with that comes commitment and responsibility. The coordinators and coaches have been working hard behind the scenes to make this season a success. After talking with coordinators, coaches and various parents; it has been decided that while we will also have FUN as part of our team, we would like to push a little further up the ladder to be more competitive. We have some tremendous talent on our team and we want to compete at a higher level.

The Ins and Outs of Swim Team:

Minimum requirements:

MUST be able to Swim one length unassisted
Attend 3 practices a week (Fun Day does not count)
Meets on are Monday, exception is week one- it is on Tuesday
Cost: $200 per swimmer
Parents are required to volunteer (more details at the parent meeting)

Monday, March 18: Returning Swimmer Registration Opens
Monday, March 25: New Swimmer VE RESIDENTS ONLY Registration Opens
Monday, April 8: New Swimmer (Non-Residents) Registration Opens (if space allows)
Monday, April 15: Swimmer Registration Closes

Parent Events
- Tuesday, April 23 at 7pm: Mandatory Parent Meeting at Crescent Ridge Clubhouse
- Tuesday, June 25 from 6-9pm: End of Season Party (swimmers and immediate family ONLY)
Swim Practice
- May 13 – May 23, Weekday afternoons from 4:30pm-8:30pm
- May 28 – June 24, Weekday mornings from 8am-noon (Tuesday modified practice/late start
- Tuesdays is modified:
- o5-6 age 9-9:30am
- o7-8 age 9:30-10am
- o9-10 age 10-10:30am
- o11-12 age 10:30-11:15am
- o13-18 age 11:15-12pm
Practice Meet/Time Trial:
- Thursday, May 23 - 6-8:30pm
- This is new this year, but it is great for new swimmers and new parents to get a feel for how a meet runs and for the coaches to get good time trails on ALL athletes to then place them in events for our first real meet. We will have refs.
