IMPORTANT…PLEASE READ…..
May 27th
Parents-
First- Morning practice starts tomorrow! 5-6 age starts at 8am.
Please take time to read this ENTIRE email, as we need to make sure we are ready for tomorrow’s meet.
The time trial meet went well, but there were quite a few hiccups.
- We had over 11 swimmers pull out of the meet on Thursday. We understand kids get sick, it happens- but if you AT ALL think they can’t swim, ESPECIALLY if on a relay team, PLEASE let us know Immediately. We had to cancel several relays due to not enough swimmers. If your swimmer is up all night sick, Please email first thing the next morning- do not wait until 2-3pm, even 4pm to decid they can’t swim—this hurts our whole team !!
- Last week’s official was awesome and he knew we were working out the kinks, but most officials aren’t that nice or accommodating. We run the risk of the meet being forfeit if else don’t have volunteers in place.
- To piggy back on that- if you are a volunteer, please man your post the WHOLE shift. Example-If you are a deep end timer and there are no events for a period of time, please still man your post. The meet can go quick and we need to make sure we are ready.
- If your swimmer is not in the bull pen, you need to mark sure they are on deck 5-6 events prior to their race.
- NO ONE except swimmers, who are in the current event, are allowed in the pool- please stay out of the pool- again, the official can forfeit the whole meet.
- Only swimmers are allowed behind the blocks.
- If you are cheering on a swimmer ending in the shallow end, Please stay back so the timers can see the swimmer and swimmers can exit easily.
- Please try to help manage trash. A lot was left lying around last week.
- Upon arrival for the meet- swimmers should meet coaches under the bullpen tents- No swimmers are allowed under or in the scoring area.
- Even if your swimmer knows their events, please still have them get their event slip from a coach- this is how we track attendance at the meet.
Sorry for all the demands, but this is a team sport and we need everyone’s help!
Let’s Go Dolphins!!
