Swimmers check in with coaches on the pool deck, 5:00pm warmups begin, 6pm the meet begins. You may leave after your swimmer’s last event. We do encourage you to stay and cheer on the other members of the team, but we also understand our younger swimmers are tired and have earlier bedtimes. If you signed up to swim, PLEASE SHOW UP and stay for ALL your events.
Volunteers: If you are scheduled to volunteer, please reference the email that Jennifer Lucas, Volunteer Coordinator, will send with specific information about what time to arrive and where to check in. If you have any questions or concerns about your volunteer job, please work with Jennifer Lucas directly.
Theme: NEON
What to Bring: Black Sharpie, extra pair of goggles (they do break and get lost), swim cap if you use one (no swim caps promoting any school are allowed in competition), two towels, sweatshirt, SPF, bug spray. Cash or Credit Card for concessions. If you have younger swimmers, toys or games to entertain them in the bullpen while they wait for their event.
NO ALCOHOL. Do NOT bring it. If alcohol is found. We can be fined and the meet forfeited.
Bullpen: There is a bullpen for 5–6-year-olds and one for 7–8-year-olds. When the 5-8 old swimmers arrive at the pool, after checking in with the coaches, they should immediately go to the Bullpen area, where a bullpen parent will check the swimmer in. There is no Bullpen for 9yr olds and up. It will be the swimmers/parent’s responsibility to make sure your swimmer is lined up and on time for their events. Please do not make us look for your child.
Weather: At the moment, there is rain in the forecast, we are watching it. We will swim in the rain. We will take 30-minute breaks for lightning or thunder. Please wait in your car and stay on premises. Bring toys to entertain kids in the car. Please do not leave the meet especially if you are in a relay. The only people who can call the swim meet is the combination of Julie/Aileen, the Saddlebrook coordinator and the official. All three parties must agree on if/when to cancel the meet. Only Julie/Aileen are allowed to speak with the official according to the CSSL manual. We will try to swim to avoid reschedule.
Concessions: Will be provided at the meets. Payment options are cash, apple pay and credit card. our CC machine is tap only. Insert is not an option. Also, if you are using cash, please plan and bring smaller bills. Lots of $20s for a $3 item is challenging. We will have the following available at home meets, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, BBQ, Pizza (PIZZA SELLS OUT VERY QUICKLY, IF YOU WANT PIZZA, PURCHASE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MEET) popcorn, frozen grapes (limited quantities) candy, chips, water, sodas, and Powerade. We can do cheese quesadillas if requested.
ALSO!!!! At the Concession Stand we will be selling “Vintage Dolphins Merchandise” tshirts from 2022, 2023, and 2024. We also have our extra 2025 shirts and silicon caps!!!
Please be respectful of the communities hosting our team (both home and away). Remind your children to put trash in the trash cans. I picked up a lot of wrappers last week.
Events: Once the meet is fully prepared, you should be able to view your child’s events in SwimTopia. When your swimmer checks in at the pool deck, the coaches will give him/her a slip of paper with the events and help your child mark up their arms/legs.
A Few additional things I want to mention.
*** Although we only have one stroke clinic remaining. If you have signed up to come. Please show up. We had 4 no shows on Wed. this takes away a space someone else really wanted. It also takes money away from the coaches. If you are unable to attend on Wednesday, please remove your child on signup genius.
*** There will be an additional email regarding the Patti Wilder meet. Jack participated last year and had a Blast!!!
*** We all like to win. But let’s remember good sportsmanship as well. Let us all remember to be kind hosts, gracious guests and good sports.
*** PLEASE, no parents behind the dive blocks. Only officials, coaches, swimmers and volunteers assigned to that area. It’s distracting. We all want to cheer our kids on. We just need to do it from the sides of the pool. (update- this has been much better, thank you)
*****We are very sad to announce that after 5 years, our wonderful and talented announcer Richard Trumble will be moving on at the end of this season. With only two home meets left, we would love to start recruiting for his replacement now!!! This gives the new announcer time to watch Richard in action!!! It will give you time to talk to him about the role and consider the job!!! If you think this might be something you are interested in starting 2026, Please speak with Julie or Aileen. The Dolphins need YOU!
*** No children on the tennis courts during the meets. If your child gets bored, bring something to entertain them. No one in the baby pool, and no one in the water by the slide. *** Ribbons from meets will be ready on fun day. They can be picked up in the ribbon box by the pool deck. I noticed yesterday there are several ribbons that have not been picked up.
***Fun Day -6/11 9-11am lifeguards, doughnuts, slide. NO SIBLINGS
*** Stroke Clinic- 6/11 11-12. After fun day. This week is Butterfly. You will venmo the coach directly.
*** Picture Day went Great!!!! I can’t wait to see the photos!! Questions:
If I have missed anything or you have additional questions. Please reach out. The email is checked frequently.
Thank you, Carole
